The process that makes Jack Daniel's unique among whiskies is the "charcoal mellowing". The whisky seeps slowly through 10 feet of firmly packed charcoal, made from the best sugar maple wood to be found, for a good 10-14 days before it goes into oak barrels to age.

Then that charcoal... well it's good and soaked with Jack Daniel's Whiskey, just right for turning it into smoking pellets that enhance your grilling with that one of a kind whiskey flavour.

Start your cooker and warm it up to the desired cooking temperature (Note: not all grills heat the same. It is important that the pellets get hot enough to smoke. It may require some experimentation for your particular BBQ).

Place your smoker box or foil pouch filled with 1/3 cup of pellets on or above the heat source.

When smoking starts, put your meat on to cook and close the grill cover. The smoke will last 30 minutes using a foil pouch.
